John Tavares was born to parents Barbara Tavares and Joe Tavares on September 20, 1990 in Mississauga, Canada. He is a Canadian professional ice hockey centre who currently serves as the captain of the New York Islanders of the National Hockey League. In the year 2009, he was drafted first overall by the NHL Entry Draft. He previously played minor ice hockey with the Oakville Rangers of the Ontario Minor Hockey Association. Soon after, he moved to the Mississauga Senators of the Greater Toronto Hockey League (GTHL). It was on July 15, 2009 when he signed a three-year contract with the New York Islanders. His first NHL play happened when his team played against Edmonton Oilers. Since then, his career in the NHL became more and more successful.
John’s workout regimen is noted to be intense. He usually runs 20 30-yard sprints. He also throws a 20 pound medicine ball into the air while jumping off a box and also lifts a 200-pound barbell. Other than that, he also uses medicine throw balls.
When it comes to diet, he is practicing a strict one. He also incorporates vitamins and nutrients to keep everything in balance.
