Kathleen Doyle Bates, famously known as Kathy Bates, is an American actress and film director. She was born in Memphis, Tennessee on June 28, 1948 to parents Bertye Kathleen and Langdon Doyle Bates. She started her career in show business in 1977, playing the role Phyllis on TV series The Doctors. In 1986, she began to get prominent when she was cast as Polly on the TV series St. Elsewhere which lasted for about a year. Soon after, she was seen on TV series The American Experience, Six Feet Under, The Office, and American Horror Story. She was also highlighted on films such as Arthur 2: On the Rocks, At Play in the Fields of the Lord, Titanic, The Legend of Pancho Barnes and the Happy Bottom Riding Club, and a lot more.
One who was diagnosed with an ovarian cancer, Kathy learned the importance of practicing a healthy lifestyle. She said in her interview with WebMD, “I’ve tried to eat better. I try to get more exercise. It’s not always easy; it’s a constant battle, but I do the best I can.
Nowadays, the actress is enjoying a healthy and vibrant life. “My health is very good. I’ve got a lot of energy. I feel really positive and happy to be at work, she expressed. We’re very happy for Kathy. She serves as a great inspiration not just for the people who are experiencing cancer but also for those people who don’t want to acquire serious diseases.
